Salon Feature: Lucinda’s Hair & Beauty – Where Curls, Care & Sustainability Meet

Rebecca Taylor is the dedicated owner of Lucinda’s Hair & Beauty in Brisbane’s Tingalpa.

Lucinda’s has been a proud part of the Bayside Brisbane community since 2009 when the salon first opened its doors in Wynnum before relocating to its current home in Tingalpa. From the very beginning, Rebecca and her passionate team built the salon on values of community, care, and inclusivity.

As long-time stockists of Ethical Brand Co., Rebecca is proud that Lucinda’s have supported clients on their curl journey from day one using Clever Curl and EverEscents Organic Hair Care products.

“We are a full-service hair and beauty salon and have been an Ethical Brand Co stockist since we opened. We have a dedicated curl menu offering dry curl by curl cuts, hydration services, education and colouring services. Our Senior Stylists are Clever Curl Masterclass trained, and we have been offering our specialist menu now for 5 years.”

Lucinda’s quickly became a trusted name among Brisbane’s curly-haired community.

“We love the whole Clever Curl Range. We love that we can offer our clients the right products within the range specifically for their hair’s specific needs – especially being able to choose from a Light or Rich Conditioner, or a Dry or Humid Weather Gel.”

Rebecca and the team’s favourite technique when working with curl is the hydration service, something they felt offered an instant transformation.

“Being able to show our client their curl fully hydrated is always a wow moment. We also love to teach our clients to brush style to create definition and volume.”

Lucinda’s often welcomes clients who are new to curl-specific care or unsure how to manage their natural texture. Rebecca explained that the team frequently hears questions like: “Why is my curl frizzy and not defined?” or “Why is my hair shaped like a triangle?”.

“We get a lot of people who have never had a dry curl cut or used the right products for their texture. There is a lot of re-education involved, and we love being part of that lightbulb moment when it all starts to make sense for them.”

Lucinda’s is proud to be a member of the Sustainable Salons network. This revolutionary resource recovery program helps Rebecca’s team to work towards zero waste, reduce the salon carbon footprint, and implement sustainable work practices that benefit the local community.

As a sustainable salon, Rebecca felt that introducing a refill station for both EverEscents and Clever Curl was an obvious fit for Lucinda’s Hair & Beauty.

“It was a really easy decision for us. We love that our clients can bring their bottles back and get a refill without contributing to more plastic production, and they love getting rewarded with a little discount!”

Under Rebecca’s leadership, Lucinda’s is a curl-loving, eco-conscious space where people feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
