The Evolution of Clever Curl Education
Beginning in 2020, our Textured Hair Education Courses were created to give confidence, understanding and knowledge to hairdressers across Australia and New Zealand to say YES to any hair type that walks through their salon door. Since then, we have an experienced team of Clever Curl Educators who are passionate about supporting hairdressers to be the best they can be. Leah Campbell
With more than 40 years’ experience as a Hairdresser, Salon Owner and Wholesaler, Leah brings a broad range of education expertise in supporting professionals across the full industry spectrum.
Leah’s specialist approach to bespoke educational content provides the tools needed to implement the latest innovative practices in your salon. Leah is passionate about the evolution of the hairdressing industry and empowering hairdressers with the skills and knowledge to provide the ultimate client experience. David Corry
Lead Educator David has been in the business of hair for more than 25 years. During his time in the industry, Dave has spent time teaching with a London Hairdressing College and has owned his Brisbane based Texture Inclusive Salon Marcia Gibsons for over 10 years.
David specialises in wavy to afro/tight texture hair and has fostered a unique and diverse curl community within his own salon. David’s passion for all things curly has resulted in the creation of an inclusive, welcoming space open to all clients. David’s passion is to share his skills, knowledge and inspiration to empower you to take charge of your own curl journey.
Pepa Pomana
With a decade of professional experience in the hairdressing industry, Pepa is dedicated to promoting hair diversity and inclusion. Pepa specialises in enhancing waves, curls, and coils, ensuring each client’s unique beauty shines through.
Hailing from Aotearoa, New Zealand, Pepa takes pride in her Māori heritage and advocates for indigenous hair practices. She has established a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals of all hair types feel valued and empowered.
Pepa’s commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering a sense of belonging makes her a powerful collaborator in the “New Era” of the Hair and Beauty Industry.
Masterclass
An introduction to the unique nature of curls and the Clever Curl approach.
Clever Curl Masterclass is offered to professional Hairdressers and delivers intensive, practical training to provide the in-depth knowledge and skills that curly clients are desperately seeking.
During this 2-day hands-on workshop you will learn about the Clever Curl approach from the theory of curls through to dry cutting techniques, bespoke hydration treatments and styling methods. You will complete a full curl cut, hydration and style service on 3 models.
Clever Curl Masterclass is limited to small, intimate groups and is available to Clever Curl stockists only.

Advanced Masterclass
Afro Tight Texture
Expand your curl knowledge in the diversity of tight textured curls.
This advanced follow up to the Clever Curl Masterclass for professional Hairdressers delves deep into cutting, hydration and styling techniques for all types of diverse tight texture.
Our Clever Curl Educators guide attendees through a multi-faceted approach to cutting, hydrating and styling tight textured hair, with each attendee completing three different haircuts on a headblock (provided).
This class is available to experienced stylists and graduates of the Clever Curl Masterclass.

Colour Techniques for Curls - Look & Learn
Perfect for anyone looking to build confidence in colouring textured hair.
This half-day class is perfect for anyone looking to build confidence in colouring textured hair.
You’ll watch a live demonstration on a head block, led by an expert educator who will share curl specific colouring techniques including hand-painting and foiling. The session will focus on how to place and apply colour specifically for textured hair, and how this process differs from colouring straight hair.
A great introduction for those new to working with textured hair or looking to expand their skills.
